Brand Guidelines

The Strata Mark.

Five horizontal strata represent the geological column we work through. The brightest band is the aquifer — visual hierarchy mirrors the business. A hairline drill axis terminates at the aquifer with a small dot: the moment of strike. The notch on the bedrock band, paired with the empty space above it, forms a quiet negative-space "G".

Clear space

Reserve breathing room equal to one strata band.

The dashed boundary represents the minimum clear space — equivalent to one strata band height (≈12% of the mark). Don't crowd the mark with type, imagery, or other graphics inside this zone.

Incorrect usage

Things we don't do to the mark.

  • Don't recolour individual strata bands.
  • Don't stretch or skew the mark; uniform scaling only.
  • Don't add drop shadows, gradients or 3D effects.
  • Don't rotate the mark — orientation reads as a column for a reason.
  • Don't typeset the wordmark in any other typeface.
  • Don't place the mark on a busy photograph without sufficient contrast.
